Lifting and Moving the 700 lb Engine

OK, the big day. I managed to get the engine hoist in position by cutting away some of the pallet. Meanwhile, I had to take care that I didn't remove any supports on the pallet or the engine would fall over!

Also, I've read about how these engines are top heavy and if you're not careful they tip over when you try to lift them. So I took great care in fitting the lifting chains around the engine so it couldn't tip.

Ah, success. The engine lifted right off the pallet and I was able to move it to the rear of the garage with some help from my friend Jeff.
